Here's a look at the boys who made 76 Seconds what it is:
David Sudwarts
Age: 22
Occupation: Youth Director for Barnet Synagogue
Hometown: New Barnet
A completely false bio: The younger twin of the rap-making duo, 'Dave & Big L', Elliot and his bro started out of the street corners of High Barnet, building up their reputation battling against such rappers as 'BAM BAM!', 'The EB Crew' and 'The Hendon Brothers'. They have been praised for their ability to create a "devastating match between lyrics and production" despite their backing track mostly made out of Elliot's beatboxing. Despite giving up the game for other pursuits, they still collaborate and just sometimes just break randomly into songs.
So...boxing...why do you like it?
I like boxing because there is always tension and it’s fighting which is legal. With a world so engrossed with violence, legal fighting will always be popular to watch.
Most definitely, I hold dog fights in my garage but that story is for another time, what do you hope to gain from this project?
I hope this project gives me an understanding of how other religions view us Jewish people and whether their views, as well as mine, are different to after we have bonded.
I hope so too, but considering you've done it now, what was good about the trip?
As I am in university I am constantly mixing with other communities, ethnicities and religions and its nice to see that we can all get along with no conflict.
Ish
Age: 19
Occupation: Student at City University
Hometown: Stoke Newington, Hackney
Skills - The best boxer of the group (apparently)
So what do you like about boxing?
I find Boxing to be a very interesting sport. I like Boxing because it is a sport that tests your abilities and strengths in all departments. It is essential to be fit and Boxing definitely gets the best out me as a person both physically and mentally.
Cool, so what other things do you do with you time?
I am a very active person and organise my time very effectively. During my free time I help out in my local community centre, providing good facilities for young kids. I also play a lot of different types of sport on a weekly basis.
You definitely run a high mileage, what did you think of the project?
I went into the project with an open mind, looking to gain some knowledge about religion and I believe this project was superbly organised and very beneficial. It has taught me a lot about Judaism and I am very grateful to Lea for giving me this opportunity.
Yeah, thanks Lea
Elliot Sudwarts (Twin brother of David)
Age: 22
Hometown: New Barnet
Occupation: Student
So what is it about Boxing that you like?
Football is always hit and miss with entertainment, boxing is guaranteed fun.
Well, Football is definitely like that if you watch England games, apart from this project do with interact with different cultures often?
I mix with other communities as on my University Course I am the only Jewish person and 85% are Asian or Muslim.
I guess that helps then, so what do you wish to gain from the project?
I hope to get a clearer view of what it is like to spend time with people of different races especially when two men are representing both our cultures in a physical sport against one another.
Moosa
Bio (May or may not be true)
Silent yet deadly, Moosa is a shadowy warrior originating from the cold concrete jungle of North London. Born to an Evil Fairy and a Ninja, he was taught the dark arts from a young age and fought his to the top the Clapton cage league in East London, leaving no remains in the demolishing of his . But after numerous disagreements with his parents about his possible future continuing on doing such a thing, he left home and found a place among some student squatters, got a job in local chain store and started doing BSC Sport Science at university. Very excited about the project, he described it as a great chance to see a good fight while also learning a little more about a culture very different from his own.
Yaakov Sufrin – A.K.A known as yy
Age: 20
Occupation: Salesman/Student
Hometown: Ilford
Why do you like boxing?
Boxing is one of the only sports were you can say whatever you like before hand but if you don’t produce on the night it doesn’t make a difference. I also have to say that when Dmitriy Salita, Roman Greenberg and Yiron Forman (all Jewish) started coming on the scene, it made me a lot more interested.
It's always good if there is someone that you can personally take an interest in, it is key in developing an interest in any sport, so do you get to mix with other communities often?
My work makes me mix with other communities, and I enjoy it. My father also runs a charity called Drugsline which is a non-denominational charity meaning that is not for only Jews…it has helped thousands and thousands of people of many religions, race and colours.
Wow, that's great, what do you hope to expect from this trip?
My hopes for this road trip are meeting and getting to know the other group of guys and pretty much prove there is nothing really making a boundary between our communities at all. As well, of course I would love to watch the fight (which would be my first live match) and hopefully watch Salita win and lift his new belt!
Tough chance
Shabbs
Bio (Also might not be true)
From the Alien planet that unpronounceable in human speak, Shabbs is 195 years old in Earth years and is expert musician at the Krrrick, a specialist instrument from his home planet that doesn't look that much different from a Roland MC-808 but is much more reliable. Otherwise, he is an active "sportsbeing" on his planet and regarded as the top his planet top sport 'Nasdnsfndasn' and travels to Earth quite a bit to take on new fitness techniques for a gym he's planning on opening called "SHABBS POWER". We're not sure how he ended up on the coach...
